A reworking, not from the original reference, but from my painting Estuary from a couple of years ago. Increasingly I felt I hadn’t achieved an ‘atmosphere’, which is what I had intended. Working with only the painting as a reference, with a limited palette and, eventually, using only knives rather than brushes, I produced this.
