Since starting painting almost three years ago, I have worked exclusively in oils. However, an impending holiday abroad means that, although there should be ample opportunity to paint en plein air, it would be inconvenient to take my oil paints by plane, and even worse to bring home several completed, but sticky, canvases.
The only solution seems to be to try painting in watercolours, something I last attempted about thirty years ago. I have been practising and won’t be putting any of my early attempts on here, but here are two of my most recent, more successful, sketches.
