The reason “PROMOTED” couldn’t be correctly retitled is because this painting is part of the pair and already had the title allocated before brush touched canvas.
A first for me – and I don’t mind if it’s a last, too -painting a montage like this was difficult and not really ‘what I do’. It wasn’t until I was happy with all six faces that I began to feel comfortable with the picture, but even then, it was difficult to think of it as a whole painting.
More graphic art than fine art, it was what was requested, so it was what I did.
